Two local girls have changed their lives drastically after taking a hands-on business class through the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce.

Samantha Shank and Karen Lopez started their own businesses with the help of local business people mentoring them during the Chamber’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA) last year.

Ditch the paper towels

Samantha Shank created a reusable alternative to paper towels that she sells for $25 online, at craft shows and at The Soapy Gnome in Goshen.

The product is six soft terrycloth towels that snap together to form a roll. The towels can be washed and reused until they wear out, saving money over time by eliminating the need to purchase paper towels over and over.
